Marine Electrical, Electronics, training including advanced high capacity lithium battery systems. From beginner to professional level.

Complete MECO Pathway

MET 4: Marine Electrical, Electronics & Advanced Power Systems

The full MECO training route in one package — taking learners from the electrical fundamentals through to advanced vessel integration, marine electronics, lithium battery systems and modern onboard power.

MET 1 Foundation Boat Electrics Start from the basics: voltage, current, resistance, testing, batteries, cabling, circuit protection and fault-finding.
MET 2 Marine Electrical Technician Build technician-level understanding of DC and AC systems, charging, inverters, generators, protection and installation standards.
MET 3 Marine Electronics & Networks Move into NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, radar, transducers, engine gateways, Ethernet/IP networking and vessel data integration.
MALIBAS Lithium & Advanced Power Study lithium-ion battery systems, BMS operation, fault current, alternator control, fire risk, protection and compliance.
Built for complex modern vessels

MET 4 gives learners the knowledge needed to work confidently with complex marine electrical, electronic and advanced power systems — from the behaviour of individual circuits through to the data and energy systems used on modern vessels.

Professional Marine Electrician Package

If you're keen to get the very best start in the marine electrical industry, and would prefer a single point of contact for all your training needs - the MECO PRO MET 4 Unlimited Package provides a solution for you. This package includes all the MET courses and provides detailed studies in all aspects of the marine electrical, electronics, and high capacity and complex energy storage systems. Many technicians are frustrated at the need for additional training to work on evolving systems, or find it difficult to keep up with the changing standards and regulations, the MET 4 addresses these issues.

more complex advanced battery systems that now require specific formal training and certification. MECO Meets these training requirements and the MET 4 Package is aligned with all the relevant Standards from ABYC, ISO, IEC, NMEA, RCD, IMO and the top 12 Classification societies.

The MECO PRO MET 4 package covers Marine Electrical, Electronics and Advanced Power Systems. Although the subjects are highly detailed and technical, no previous experience or specific prior knowledge is required. Each subject is taught fully, starting from the basics and building through to the highest level that can realistically be achieved online.

The full package can be completed in as little as 2 weeks, although we recommend allowing at least 3 to 4 weeks to get the best from the training.

Included in this package are MET 1, MET 2, MET 3 and the MALIBAS — Marine Lithium Battery & Advanced Systems course. Together, these courses provide the knowledge needed to work confidently with complex marine electrical, electronic and advanced power systems on vessels up to 50m LOA.
